BICYCLE SAFETY

Safety And Education

Bicyclists and motorists share an uneasy existence. Motorists are often frustrated when they approach a bicyclist and are forced to slow down. Cyclists are often tense and nervous when approached by an automobile. A lack of instruction and poor habits often result in disaster. Cyclists and motorists share the same roads and are subject to the same laws. Take time as a cyclist and a motorist to educate yourself about safety habits that could save a life.

New Cyclists

Much of what a new cyclist learns is simply by riding, riding, riding. But, so much can be learned by reading and observation (videos and fellow riders). “New Cyclists” will provide you with information on gear shifting, braking and turning, standing to pedal, types of bikes, adjusting your saddle and handlebars for comfort, cold and hot weather riding, etc.
